The start of ITCareerGeek – thanks to a friend.

Well, I finally can start with this site – a good friend of mine, faced with a prospect of not having a job after the first of 2023, has asked me to help with getting into IT. It all starts where you are – desktops, laptops, mobile device, wi-fi, and even Internet connectivity. Understanding how things work around you is a huge leg up in understanding the enterprise versions of these items.

With my 30+ years in computing, I learned how to assemble Intel 286-based machine (even with 286SX!) and have grown my skill set from there. Now, I’ve rebuild my PC 3 times and even helped friends build theirs. I consider myself an almost wifi expert, and have been in corporate IT for 25+ years.
